Phoenix were in Can- nington last Friday evening attending the Educational Convention. Mr. T. Nugent and Edna were visit- ing at the home of Richard Nugent on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Brandon, of Toronto, at Mr. Richard Real's on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Milton Howsam and family of Havelock, at Mr. John How- sam's on Sunday. We are sorry to report Mrs. John Stone on the sick list. Mr. D. Mason has rented the east Chas. Love farm. The ladies of the United Church are having a bazaar, supper and en- tertainment on the evening of Dec. 2nd. ----------e PP UTICA Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Bentley have been in Toronto for the last two weeks. We understand Mrs. Bentley is taking treatments for neuritis. Mr. J. Stringer and Mr. J. Hitchens left this week to return to England. The illustrated lecture on the Pas- sion Play given by Rev. E. C. Hunter, last Friday night, was much enjoyed by all. Mrs. J. E. Mitchell in Toronto re- cently visiting Mrs. Cartwell, who is very ill. A number from here attended the funeral of Mrs. Jas. Lakey on Tues- day. Biesers. A. E. Spencer, C. W. Lekey, and Harry Smith, of Toronto, were deer hunting last week. Messrs. Harold and Geo. Broderick of Mount Albert, were in the village on Thursday. Mr. Roy Corbman was married last Wednesday, his bride arriving from Moose Jaw on Monday. The Committee appointed by the Bluebird Club to take charge of pre- paring the land and erecting the fence or the rink, met on Tuesday night. Mrs. Fred Ackney and John, are| spending this week in Toronto. Mr. and Mrs. Wagg spent a féw days in Zephyr last week. A number from here attended the Oddfellows "At Home" in Port Perry last week. Mrs, E. Kendall visiting in Flesher- ton and Markdale recently. We are pleased to see Mr. John Christie able to be around again. We understand Mr. N. Brown is returning to his farm next Spring, and Mr. Wm. Taylor who has been a tenant for a number of years will move to the Taylor Homestead. Mr. and Mrs. W.
