The choir met 88 usual on Wednes- day night and made arrangements for a picnic to be held at Oshawa on Tuesday. Everyone is looking for- ward to a good time. Mr. Ellis Hill has purchased another car, as has also Mr. Ross Goodhand. A large number of friends and neighbours gathered at Mr. and Mrs. Russ Rodman's on Monday night to give Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Rodman a warm and noisy welcome home. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Rodman just arrived home from their honeymoon they spent at Peterboro, Smiths Falls, Ot- tawa and other éastern points. The ' mies evening was spent in dancing. The fishing season which opened on Tuesday, July 1st, and the reports were good from all fishing at Port Hoover. The Zion boys journeyed to Salem the other night and played a friendly game of ball, the score being 17-7 in favor of Zion. The Zion girls also played a game with: Salem girls and the score being 8-6 in favor of Zion. Mr, and Mrs. Gordon Rodman called on friends here recently. The bad electrical storm which passed over here on Tuesday caused heavy rain and wind, and the lightn- ing struck the barn of Mr. Norman There was very little in the Barn, however.
