No opening occuring for an officer of that rank, he went overseas as a sergeant and was later made a Lieutenant. Shortly before poing overseas Lieut. Soper married the daughter of the late Principal Nutting, of Uxbridge, and his wife and baby child survive him Lieut Soper was a splendid young man and a great favorite in town His death is felt with keen regret.
