On Friday evening, thé 7th of August, the congregation" met in the basement of the church after prayer meeting to say good bye to Rev. Mr. and Mrs. Leitch. Mr. Thos. H. Watson was: called to the chair and in a few well chosen words expressed the object of the meeting. He then called few words ably set forth that it was fitting that the congregation of the work Mr. and Mrs, Leitch had done for them during their stay with them, and Mr. Allan Stewart then presented Mr. Leitch with a purse of money. : Mr. Leitch in replying. said he accepted the gift with gladness not so much. because of its~intrinsic value but because of the spirit which prompted it. He said that he had always done the work of the congregation as faithfully as he knew how, and that it had been a delight to him to. see the congregation advance during his short stay with them, and thanked them for the hearty manner in which they had co-operated with him in doing the Lord's work in St. Andrew's Church, Sonya. The congregation then spent some time in a social wdy and a short impromptu programme : was given. A Rev. Mr. Leitch has been pastor of St. .Andrew's Church, Sonya, for about two years and three months, and has accepted a call to St. Andrew's: Church, Yorkton, Sask., for which place he and his family left on Monday morning; August 10th.
