S---- Hard on the Purists. A Grit exting Our readers will remember that the ol- ection of a representative for the Dominion parliament, for N. Vie- toria was a keen contest, the con- tostants being Mr Hector Cameron on the Conservative side and Mr Mec- Lennan for the Grits. The contest was about equal as far as numbers went and at tee close of the ballott Grit arithmetic succeeded in adding up the ballots that Mr McLennan though hegot the fewer number of ballots was aceording to the cules of grit arithmetic said to bave amajor- ity of vutes and was accordingly declared by Grit agents as duly elected.
