WARTS, Steve Alan

Age 61, passed peacefully in his sleep, with family at his side on April 21, 2021. Predeceased by his father Gerald Swarts, Steve is survived by his mother Barb Swarts, former wife Sharon Tattersall, and he will be lovingly missed by their children: Keri-Ann Swarts (John), Laura (Chris) Keeler, and Derek (Amanda) Swarts. Steve was a Grandfather to eight and had one great-granddaughter. Steve is survived by his siblings Janice, James, Tom (Patty) and Sandra Swarts (Mike). Steve was known for many things; his love of fishing, golfing, and also many sports teams in his younger years. He was looked up to by many, and not just because of his height. His work ethic was something to be admired, and will be missed by his friends at TST Overland. His favourite way to unwind included a cold beverage and swimming. Steve liked to keep up a tough guy act with sarcasm and a great sense of humor; even up to his very last days, he kept his family and nurses laughing. Although giving off a tough vibe, he was a giant teddy bear and a 'gentle giant', with a love of all animals and feeding his birds and squirrels. A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date. Memorial donations in Steve's honour may be made to VON Sakura House directly or by cheque through Wareing Cremation Services, 225 Norwich Ave., Woodstock, Ontario N4S 3V8 entrusted with arrangements. Messages of remembrance and condolence may be shared at wareingcremation.ca
