Th e event is part of the celebration of Canada's 150th birthday, where children and parents alike are invited to try as many of the 150 sports listed with ParticiPACTION. While diving may seem like a hidden sport of sorts, the club said the sport is growing in popularity, especially after the 2016 Olympic Summer Games. "We have a program called Learn to Dive," said Brian Dixon, com- munications manager for the club. "We opened up our registration for the March session about a week ago … in that week, we had $7,000 worth of registration. It seems like something not a lot of people think of, but it's still pretty popular." Th e following weekend, March 25 and 26, the K-W Diving club will host its Spring Classic Provincial qualifi er at the Rec Complex. Divers from all over the province -- up to 10 teams -- will come to compete. For more information, visit www.participaction.com/150. On March 25, the K-W Diving Club is hosting an open event for residents to try diving. The event is part of ParticipACTION 150. Heading to the event this week will be receiver Marcus Arkarakas, linebacker Bran- don Calver, defensive back Taylor Calverley and offensive linemen Brett Golding and Chris Reddy of Kitchener. Two of Laurier's highly-regarded offen- sive line, which has produced some of the top rushing performances in the country over the last four seasons, will also be in attendance in Reddy and Golding. Reddy has appeared in 30 games for the Hawks since joining the team in 2013 while Golding, who missed all of 2016 due to injury, will be look- ing to show off the form which made him one of Laurier's best offensive lineman in both 2014 and 2015. All fi ve players will be looking to put in their best performance as they hope to earn an invitation to the National Combine which is set for March 23-25 in Regina, Saskatache- wan.
