Two men are facing a slew of drug and weapons charges after a routine traffic stop in Oakville recently. At about 10:30 a.m. on Dec. 4, Halton po- lice conducted a stop in the area of Winston Churchill Boulevard and Sherwood Heights Drive. Police seized a loaded .22 calibre hand- gun and a variety of drugs, including fenta- nyl, methamphetamine, oxycodone tab- lets, powdered and crack cocaine, along with more than $4,400 in Canadian curren- cy. Garnett Grant, 18, of North York has been charged with possession for the pur- pose of trafficking - cocaine, fentanyl, meth and oxycodone pills. Garret Grant, 21, of Toronto has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine, fentanyl, meth and oxycodone pills; possession of a controlled substance - oxycodone pills; possession of a restricted firearm; occupant of motor ve- hicle knowing that there is a firearm; knowledge of unauthorized possession of weapon; knowledge of unauthorized pos- session of firearm; unauthorized posses- sion of weapon; carry a concealed weapon; possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose; breach of firearms regulation; careless use of a firearm; and possession of a firearm knowing that its serial number has been defaced.
