James Henry Lay died suddenly at the West Lincoln Memorial Hospital Thursday in his 61st year.
Born in England, he came to Canada 50 years ago and had lived in Beamsville since that time. Mr. Lay was a valued member of Trinity United Church, being past president of the choir and also member of the board of stewards.
He belonged to Ivy Lodge, A.F. and A.M. and was past president of the Canadian Legion at Grimsby. For some years he was manager of the former S.M. Culpand Coal Company.
Surviving is his widow, the former Marjorie Louise Douglas; one son, Warren of Beamsville; one brother, Wilfred of Windsor and one grandson.
