A wooden sculpture, standing about seven feet high and five feet wide looking roughly like a set of organ pipes will soon stand in the Oakville Public Library's community room on the second floor.
The work, entitled Homage to Bach, is the work of sculptor Yosef Drenters, who held an exhibition at the Gallery last December and January.
The library board agreed to purchase the work at its last meeting. Mr. Drenters is accepting $1,000 for the work, somewhat below the assessed value of the piece, but he felt that in this way he could best show his appreciation to the Gallery for holding his exhibition last year.
