WITNESSES SOUGHT IN HIT AND RUN JULIE SLACK jslack@metroland.com Halton police are investigat- ing a fail-to-remain collision that occurred Nov. 21 in'the area of Trudeau Drive and Elsworthy Crossing.At approximately 9:15 a.m., a black four-door Mercedes (possibly a newer model CTS) was travelling south on Trudeau and failed to stop at the stop sign at Elsworthy Crossing, narrowly missing a school bus that had the right-of-way. The Mercedes continued onto the sidewalk, striking a tree and then a parked car. Police say the Mercedes driver failed to remain at the scene and carried on south ~ on Trudeau Drive.. Police say the vehicle will have damage to its front left corner. At the time, traffic was moder- ate and there were several school buses travelling the area as well as school-aged pedestrians on the sidewalks. The incident was cap- tured by a residential security camera, and the images shared. Police are asking for assis- tance in identifying the Mercedes and driver from anyone who may have security video or dashcam footage prior to or after the crash.
