Heavily-armed Halton officers executed a search warrant at the home Friday (Nov. 1) in the area of Bronte Street South and Britannia Road and recovered a high end Audi R8 vehi- cle. "This vehicle was stolen during a robbery a few days earlier in Toronto," Det.-Sgt. Ellie Bale said in a news release. During the search of the home, four differ- ent types of ammunition, an air pistol (which meets the criteria of a firearm) and an SKS semi-automatic carbine rifle were discovered in the house. Some residents in the area took to social media to express their shock at what hap- pened. "Way too close to us," said Jody Waskan, who lives in the area with her family. Aljbion Nasufil, 27, of Milton, has been charged with possession of property ob- tained by crime over $5000, breach of proba- tion, possession of firearm knowing posses- sion unauthorized, careless storage of a fire- arm, careless storage of ammunition and other firearm related charges. * Reem El-Roz, 23, also of Milton, has been charged with possession of property ob- tained by crime over $5000, possession of fire- arm knowing possession unauthorized, care- less storage of a firearm and careless storage of ammunition. Both accused men are in cus- tody awaiting a special bail hearing. POLICE HUNT HIT-AND-RUN DRIVER Halton Regional Police are desperate for the public's help identifying a driver after a hit-and-run in Milton has left a woman with serious injuries. The horrific incident occurred Monday, Nov. 4 just after 3 p.m. at the intersection of Farmstead Drive and Derry Road, just out- side Milton District Hospital, when an elder- ly woman was struck by a vehicle which then left the scene towards Bronte Street South on Derry Road. The victim's injuries were serious and "she has been admitted to hospital," Const. Matthew Farrant said in a release. The vehicle is described as a maroon or red 2012-2017 Hyundai Santa Fe SUV with a partial plate of ****124. The driver is de- scribed as an older man with short hair and wearing a beige sweater or jacket. Anyone with information can call police at 905-825-4747 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222- 8477
