STITT) Ee Ll THE TIME TO GET THE DEAL Lo) The talented hospitality teachers and students prepare a delicious brunch, and the in- credible meal is always enjoyed by everyone who attends. This season, CKSS intro- duced a new component to the buffet to make to it even more meaningful: on Wednesday, Dec. 12, a group of 10 students GET INR] Fa YOU'VE BEEN WAITING FOR ON THE 2018 EDGE TITANIUM FOR DETAILS, VISIT FORD.CA. ON ALL NEW 2018 EDGE MODELS were given the opportunity to participate in the buffet and in- teract with the community members. They had the chance to engage in meaningful conver- sation in this well-received ini- tiative. The vision for this buffet was to bring students and communi- ty members together in a posi- tive, impactful way. The com- munity members were encour- aged to share some wisdom with the students, and the students enjoyed learning and simply sit- ting down to talk to the people Ye oo Ra slo [of Th HG w i d who make up a large part of the community in which CKSS grows and thrives. A group of three local ladies attended their first holiday buf- fet at CKSS this season; the women noted that they were all pleasantly surprised by the stu- dent engagement component and that the initiative was very touching. One woman offered to share her experience with her friends later that week and told the students who sat with her that she would definitely be back next year, as she thorough- ly enjoyed the time spent with her friends and the CKSS stu- dents who joined them. The students at Craig Kiel- * burger Secondary continuously Gallin strive to make connections with their neighbours - with the aim of bridging the gap between youth and their community. This buffet was a huge success for CKSS, and as the students who participated responded, it was a heartwarming and genu- inely enjoyable afternoon that was enjoyed-by all in atten- dance. The staff and students of CKSS would like to wish every- one a warm and happy holiday season, and we look forward to the many more events and ini- tiatives to come in the new year.
