Halton Paramed- ic Services donated three decom- missioned ambulances. to St. John Ambulance services in Hal- ton, with two vehicles going to the Burlington branch. "It's a wonderful donation for us," said'Tim Bauer, manager of the Oakville-Milton Halton Hills branch. "We use the ambulances . as mobile first aid posts." The branch attends over 350 events each year, ready to assists participants, visitors and resi- dents for any sort of medical as- sistance. "We take care of any- thing from a scraped knee to a heart attack," said Bauer. - Before receiving donated am- bulances from the region, St. John ambulance volunteers at- tended to people on foot. Now, St. John ambulance will stock the vehicles with their medical equipment. The three ambulances are 2012 models with around 225,000 to 275,000 Kilo- metres on the odometer. "They're well-conditioned ve- hicles," said region chair Gary Carr. "They have a life cycle of seven or eight years."
