COMMUNITY | | Fighting back against cancer I'he annual Milton Relay for Life drew hundreds of participants to Country Heritage Park Friday night (June 8) in an effort to raise awareness and funds for the Canadian Cancer Society. The event, which raised more than $100,000, included a Survivor's Lap, live entertainment and the lighting of luminaries. Clockwise from right, Marie-Claude Lavigueur, left (walking in support of her father Aurthur, a 28-year cancer survivor) walks with friend and co-worker Jan Hoddinott, a seven-year cancer survivor herself; Singer Nicole Rayy entertained the walkers; Milton firefighters and recruits, led by Chief Dave Pratt, pose for a team photo by the large HOPE sign trackside; Part-time firefighter Jen Young does burpees in full bunker gear. Her goal was to do over 400 that night and raise almost $1,000 in pledges; Cancer survivors carry a banner. LEG SSE. SE pt oe SR SM REE ; i NT Cl www.yd.com Wo uojjeyapisu|
