Rick Malboeufis telling only part of the story in order to push what I would describe as a small populist view about Milton Transit. He talks about the cost for each bus rider over a year. What Malboeuf omits in his analysis is the cost savings by keeping those extra cars off the streets of Mil- ton. How about the cost of health a nice place to do business Nassagaweya roadside cleanup set for May 5 care caused -by pollution, the driver frustration and increased accident costs that go along with more cars? And without all those extra cars perhaps the huge dou- ble garages could be turned into apartments to slow down the con- version of good farmland to hous- ing? Most importantly, does the councillor not notice the changes we are experiencing in weather patterns caused by climate change? The most recent storm cost-will cost me and my insur- ance company the equivalent of one of his $3,750 cars. I believe council is acting re- sponsibly and with wisdom to spend my tax money supporting public transit, It will probably take years of that support for the future gener- ation of car drivers to realize that public transit is a better way to travel. We must encourage that now. . Keith Rasmussen, Nassagaweya Ee = Galli Galingeres, 655 MAIN STREET E., MILION Key w 8 > woduojjeyapisu)
