Comniunity Fund grant applications open May 28 The Town of Milton will begin accepting applications for the Mil- ton Community Fund grant pro- gram beginning May 28. The MCF supports not-for-prof- it organizations whose initiatives add to the quality of life within the community or enhance the image of Milton: Applications will be accepted until Sept. 10, and successful appli- cants will be awarded funds in January 2019. The MCF was established by Milton council in 2001 to distribute a portion of the funds received from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (Woodbine at Mohawk Park). Over the past 17 years, the fund has distributed more than $6.1 million to a wide range of not-for-profit community organizations and individuals. Last year, Milton council ap- - proved the distribution of $252,641 in grants to support 35 organiza- tions. "This program supports local organizations who contribute to our community," said Mayor Gord Krantz. "The support provided through the community fund rec- ognizes their contributions to making Milton a place of possibil- ity for people of all ages." The change to this year's time- line for applications is due to the 2018 municipal election and ap- pointment of a new council.
