The guest of honor received many thoughtful re- minders during the day from friends who were unable to attend. Among those present were her eldest sister, Mrs. Agnes Vandusen, aged eighty- eight and her brother-in-law, Charles Markland, aged eighty-four; also a life-long friend, Mrs. Susan Hicks, aged eighty. ) Miss. Grace Weese, teacher at Stirling, spent the holidavs at her home here. She was accompanied by her friends, the Misses Lucy Wil- liams and Lillian McGuire, of Stir- ling, who are also guests of Rev. and Mrs. W. W. Weese. Died at Piccadilly. Godfrey, April 18.--A sad event took place at Godfrey, on April 9th, when Bert Freeman passed away. The funeral was held in Piccadflly church and the sermon was preach- ed by Rev. Mr. Fairbank. Deceased, although he had not beem well for some time,was in bed only one week. His death came as a shock to his friends. Mr. Freeman was a worker in the Sunday school, holding the position of superintendent, and was well liked by everyone. His was a cheery disposition, with a joke ror young and old. He leaves to moura his death, a wife, three brothers, and four sisters, besides many friends and relatives. Sydenham, April 18.--On Tuesday evening, April 14th, the home of Mrs. Sidney Storms was the scenes of a pleasant gathering, when a num- ber of guests surprised her, it being her eightieth birthday. Mrs. Storms was taken completely by surprise and passed & most enjoyable evening with her guests. At 9.30 o'clock a dainty lunch was served.
