At Pembroke Judge McNamara gave judgment for '§437 in favor of the plaintiff in a suit in which ths estate of Frank Stafford, late com- mercial traveller and merchant of Combermere and Barry's Bay, was sued for $2,800 by the estate of Elizabeth Hudson, for care of the deceased during a period of {illness at the hotel of the late Elizabeth Hudson, in Combermere. Executors of the estate of Frank Stafford dis- puted the claim. "Nayada' Is Sold Again. Frank Wilson, who was skipper of the R. C. Y. C. champion Nayada, Toronto, for the George cup last summer, will be at Nayada"s helm again this season in the double ca- | pacity of skipper and part owner. Mr. Wilson's partners .in the pur- chase of Nayada are Messrs, F. M. Jeffrey and Douglas Addison, To- ronto. Wilson and Jeffrey have long pulled together, both in the navy and in the little Swamba, which they sold recently. His Eighty-third Birthday. Fred W. Fulford, Brockville, on Monday celebrated the eighty-third anniversary of his birthday in his accustomed health and vigor. Mr. Fulfofd is of U. E. Loyalist descent, thé last surviving member of the family of Levius Sherwood Fulford, Elizabethtown, and possesses mem- ories of early days in Brockville which are most interesting. Some of the earliest mercantile establish- ments of the town which he remem- bers and stores he visited were those conducted b, illa Flint and Robert Peden. Kingston Kennel Club. The Kingston Humane Society an- nounces that owing to the great in- terest manifested In the dog show which they held last fall at the In- dustrial Exhibition, they have de- cided to try and keep that interest alive, and have accordingly formed a "Kingston Kennel Club," which shall be conducted under the man- agement of their board of directors. The officers of the club are as fol. lows: President, Major E. M. Cart- mer; vice-president, William J. O'- Brien, secretary-treasurer, A. G. Self, W.0.; superintendent, W. A. Twigg. The annual membership fee of one dollar covers membership in thy Humane Society. A public meet- ing of dog lovers will shortly be held for the purpose of arranging for a spring show. Queen's Man Inducted. Rev. Alan Leroy Blacklock, a graduate of Queen's University, who Tecently resigned his charge at Wii- ton has been installed as pastor of the First Presbyterian Church at Waltham, Mass. In referring to the induction the Waltham Evening 'News has the following: * "Mr. 'Blacklock, who supplied the pulpit of the Presbyterian church during his student days at the Curry School of Expression in Boston, is a young man full of energy and enthusiasm for hs profession. He comes to his new field of work with a determina' tion to put into it the best he has. He is gapacialty well equipped from his'training and previous experience.
