A number of the members of Inverary Orange Lodge attended the celebration at Sunbury on the twelfth, Mr. and Mrs. Allen, Miss Allen and Dr. Carl Duff, Toronto, were recent guests at Joseph Duff's. Patterson tripped and fell and was badly hurt and is unable to do anything. Mrs. (Rev.) J. A. Waddell and children, Kingston, visited friends here a few days last week. New potatoes are getting very plentiful. | MOUNTAIN GROVE. { July 18.--The 'Battle of the { Boyne" was celebrated here in true patriotic style. Bight lodges made up the parade. Three L.0O.B.A. rep- resenting Tichborne, Arden and the local lodge participated in it. Excel lent addresses were given by W. Black, M. P., Parham; Revs. Allan and Easton, Parham; Mr. Foster, Moscow; and others. A very large crowd was in attendance. A ball game, Arden vs. Mountain Grova, was one of the features of the day Arden was the winner. : Mrs. D. McDonald, Mrs. J. Clark, Mrs. William Brown and Mrs. J. Price attended the annual district meeting of the Womens' Institute at {the home of Mrs. A. W. Sirrett, Portsmouth. Mrs, C. McKivor and Mrs. G. Gro- gan have left to visit friends in St. John, N.B. C. Price is on the sick list. H. and F. Thompson resumed work on the C.P.R. after spending a few days at home. J. Parker has re- turned from Kingston. L. Cox has erectéd a new silo. R. Cronk's new house is nearing completion. Mr. and Mrs. R. Sleeth, Battersea, were visit- ing at A. W. Thompson's recently. Miss Jeanne Crozier, Marlbank, and the Misses Pringle, Ardén, called on friends in this vicinity on Sunday evenng. Mr. and Mrs. D. J. Cronk are at S. Thompson's. Mr. and Mrs. Hewith have returned to Kingston after spending a few days with friends here. Rev. Webber and family have moved into the parsonage. He wiil take charge of the circuit here. Rev. Buckler, who has so ably filled the position here for the past four years, is retiring from the ministry and will shortly leave for Peterboro, where he and Mrs. Buckler will reside. GLENDOWER. July 13.--S8chool has closed for the holidays and the teacher has left for her home near Peterboro. Crops are splendid in this locality. Haying is in full swing. Raspber- ries are mot so plentiful as other years. A severe electric storm passed over this place last night. Miss Marion Legarey visited Mrs. Sylvia Renaud, Westport, one day this week. Mrs. Patrick Cochrane is spending a couple of months with her daughters in Carthage, N.Y. Margaret and Mary Legarey spent a day recently with Patricia and Mar- garet Cochrane. Patrick Walsh is driving M. J. Cochrane's team on the new provincial highway, near the feldspar mine.
