Synod Hall Crowded With Bayers | Eager for Christmas Bargains-- There Were a Good Many Busy Workers. The Churchwoman's Aid of St George's cathedral was en tnasse, being congratulated, yesterday, on the suc cess of its tea and Tc. Synod hall began to fill very early with buyers out for bargains, and from that till six if was crowded. Miss E. Badley took the money at the door and peo- ple passed on to have tea and cake, dispensed by Mrs. H. Hubbell, Ms. T. D. R. Hemming, Mrs. Charles Tay- lor and Mrs. Bower, their assistants being Miss E. Loucks, Miss E. Pense, Miss M. Jones and Miss M. Taylor. | The table decorations were lovely, it being massed with scarlet and white flowers and rich with old silver. At the work table, where Mrs. John Carson was convenor, all sorte of pretty things were sold by Mrs. Thom- as Mills, Mrs. J. Twigg, Mrs. B. Wat- son, Mrs. Seels, Mrs. E. Rees, Miss A. Muckleston, and Miss L. Norton-Tay- lor, Aprons useful and fetching, were iri charge of Mrs. A. Klugh and Mrs. R. J. Gardiner, and sweets were sold by Mre. D. D. Young and Mrs. R. 7E. Kent. Across the hall the vendors of home- made things had a very attractive table for a short time but it was quickly shorn of all its beauty amd those in charge, Mrs. D. Stewart Rob- ertson, Mrs. J. Hamilton and Mise Lenore Hamilton had nothing but a well-tilled cash box left. Mrs. D. Norton-Taylor, the president, welcomed all who came, -and among the gathering there was ove who brought great pleasure by her pre sence--Mrs, RB.
