DAY EVENING. The Offerings Increased--R. J. Carson's Offer of $500 to St. George's Cathedral Towards the Restoration Fund--The Various Reports. A spirit of satisfaction ruled the vestry meeting of St. George's cathe- dral, last evening. 'The receipts were $8,433, exclusive of the rector's sti- pend, £3,000, general missionary giv- ings, $146, and 'of the moneys of the W.A. and guilds. Pew rents were $2,- 601; offerings. $3,214; for diocesan missions, $1,019. While $720 has been paid on seats, $100 to a memorial purpose, $40 upon the first mort gage debenture, a" balance of $75 re- mained. The envelope offerings had increased $800. R. NF aliron and F. Spangenberg were re-tlected wardens; W. B. Dalton and W. J. B. White, auditors: Prof. Campbell, clerk of vestry. Sidesmen : Messrs. Sutherland, Tavlor, White, Dobbs, Price, Dalton, Hall, Cochrane, Twigg, Dunbar, Tur- ner, Jennings. The finance committee was re-appointed. The Men's Club submitted their pro- posal for alterations in St. George's hall and for building of a sexton's re- sidence, and it was resolved that up- on pledges amounting to $2,500 being secured, the wardons and finance com- mittee proceed with the work, deben- tures to be issued to cover cost and also the $2,000 of floating debt upon the restoration fund. R. J. Carson pledged $500 and it was felt that the whole amount required would be sub- aoribed, A resolution of thanks to Fdw. J. B. Pense for his energies in respect to reredos and sanctuary pavement was heartily given. : The financial year was changed; it will end on the last day of February. Matters of additional insurance, diab: ferred. Cordial expression of thanks were given to the wardens, choir and several parish associations. St. Mark's, Barriefield. The annual Easter vestry meeting was held in St. Mark's church, Bar: viefield, on Easter Monday, at 8 pan. The financial condition was found to be satisfactory, all obligations to dite having been fully discharged. The value of Rev. Mr. Burton's recent can- vass was appreciated by the vestry, when the apportionments were made for the coming year. All the canomi cal and other special collections since Faster last have been promptly taken up and receipts for the payment of the same were presented by the incumbent. J. 8. Sibbit was re-appointed as the clergyman's warden, and Jo 5 Stuart was reelected people's warden for the ensuing vear. J. 8. Sibbit also. kindly accepted the position of assistant Sunday school superintend- ent offered him by the incumbent, Rev. Dr. Nimmo. The sidesmen of last vear were continued in office, with the substitution of the name of W. Sibbit for that of Harry Tisdale, the latter having left the locality. The advisory committee appointed by the vestry consisted of the incumbent, the wardens, the vestry clerk and Messrs. H. C, Milton, William Alen, James Baxter and Prof. Butler, John A. Wilmot was clected vestry clerk; Messrs. KR. J. Moore and Otto Seale were appointed auditors. The business of the vestry having heen concluded a congregational rheet- ing wos held whem E. J. B.
