Tickets for Oakville Public Library's highly an- ticipated Words & Wine event are now on sale to the public. The event will be held in the library's Central Branch auditorium at 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 8. This year's theme is "Hear This!" and will feature a se- lection of binge-worthy au- diobooks. Year after year, audio- books continue to grow in popularity, largely due to their convenience - they can be listened to while working, completing chores or during a long commute. The library of- fers a wide collection of au- diobooks, including popu- lar fiction and intriguing non-fiction titles. The annual event typi- cally draws a large crowd of enthusiastic readers - and wine connoisseurs - looking for new titles to pick up or to introduce to their book clubs. Throughout the eve- ning, staff will present 14 books of their choice. This year's roster of titles range in genre and include both classic and contemporary works. Library speakers will provide a brief synop- sis of their picks and show- case why it stands out on the shelf. Prior to the presenta- tions, audience members will enjoy a reception with a selection of appetizers, and wine from Megaloma- niac - a local winery in Vi- neland, Ont. Customers can pur- chase tickets to the event for $20 at any Oakville Pub- lic Library branch.
