He and sweetheart Mrs. Claus, the Santa Claus Parade's Grand Marshall, will officially welcome the Christmas season along with thousands of people lining the Parade route in Downtown Oakville and Kerr Village. The Parade's theme, 'Celebrating 70 years' promises to deliver one of the best parades ever seen in Town, with 47 uniquely decorated floats, costumed characters and a full lineup of marching bands paving the way for Santa's arrival. The Parade starts promptly at 9:00 am - rain or shine. It will begin at Lakeshore Rd. and Reynolds, go west on Lakeshore to Kerr St. and continue north on Kerr, west on Stewart, ending at the corner of Felan and Stewart St. Don't forget the toy drive, food drive and $2 for a "red nose" • The Oakville Firefighters will be on hand to accept new, unwrapped toys. Tween and teen items are especially needed. •Kids of all ageswillwant to purchase a red nose for $2 from the FunGroup of Family and Friends fromFalgarwood.Allmoniesgenerated will be donated to Wellspring Children's Program. As this group is the only authorized seller of red noses, please don't buy your red nose from somebody else. • This year, the Kinsmen Club of Oakville invites you to "stuff a bus" for the food drive as they collect non-perishable food items for the Salvation Army in an Oakville Transit bus. Theyencourageeveryone tobring at least one non-perishable food item to the Parade. Cash donations will also be accepted. They are excited to once again partner with Oakville Hydro which is providing in-kind sup- port for the food drive. Santa Claus is coming to town! Saturday, November 17, 2018 Parade starts at 9 am Follow Santa on his route! Don't worry about parking - ride on Santa's Shuttle Bus Avoid parking hassles by taking theAvoid parking hassles by taking theA free Santa Shuttle Bus courtesy of Oakville Transit. This convenient mode of transpor- tation runs every 5 minutes from the Oakville GO Station stopping at all regular stops along Reynolds to the Church/Dunn bus terminal. The first shuttle bus leaves Oakville GO at 8:00 am and will operate every 5 minutes with last shuttle leaving Church and Dunn at 11:30 am. The shuttle will run every 5 minutes from both locations. For safety reasons children must be removed from strollers and/or wagons while on the bus. Strollers must be folded and wag- ons put in an upright position. During the Parade, Oakville Transit will detour Routes 2, 14, 15 and 17 out of the Parade area.
