London, April 30.--An influential delegation, Fepresent ing the flour im- porters of most of the large cities of the united kingdom, bad an interview with the chancellor of the exchequer, Sir Michael Hicks-Beach, this mom- ing, to protest against the taxation of flour, which, the delegates said, would affect the extent of their trade seriously. The chancellor, in replying, pointed out that the deputation re presented solely wheat flour, and that it was impossible to consider the grain and meal duties entirely from that view paint, It was impractic- able, in imposing duties on grain, to differentiate between grains. Lee Rice, the bank burglar, who with Walter Jones and Frank Rutledge, made the desperate attempt to escape from custody, while being driven from the court house to the jail on the ev- ening of June 4th last, in which the county constable, William Boyd, was shot dead, will receive the death sen- tence or have a pew trial, which will be decided by the case which opened before the full court of appeal this morning.
