Beloved wife of 65 years to the late Federico, cherished mother to Giovanni who passed away too soon, and awesome mother to Anna Maria (Tony Ruffolo) and Daiana (Rob McCoy). Her greatest joy was being a proud Nonna to John, her only grandson. We all have so much to be grateful for. Thank you for your love so generously shared, for your humour, gentleness, and strength. She had a passion for gardening and cooking and feeding her family. Laura lived her life with love for her family and friends. A special thanks to everyone who reached out to Laura while in the hospital. Your support gave her great comfort during this difficult time. Gratitude and heartfelt thanks is extended to the team in 3- North Unit 1 for their care and compassion, and to her doctors; Dr. Zayid and the Argus Medical Group, Dr. Kazem and Yolanda Richardson, and Dr. McPhaden and the Cancer Care team at the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital. TINGLE, Janet (nee Watson) SRN, QIDNS, MW, HN, ORA, CISD, SM May 30, 2018 With deep sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Janet Tingle in her 87th year. Janet was born in Gorebridge, Scotland and moved to Coventry, England, just before WWII. She studied nursing in England and practiced as a district nurse and midwife in Coventry for many years before marrying Stanley Tingle and immigrating to Canada in 1957. She worked as an operating room nurse at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Toronto, before becoming a psychiatric nurse, in 1972, at Thistletown Youth Centre (Syl Apps Campus) in Oakvi l le . Outside of work Jan had many interests from competitive tennis and badminton (President of Oakville's Wal lace Park Tenn i s C lub) , to Community Theatre, choreographing and directing several musicals and cabaret s to vo lunteer ing as a counsellor at Wellspring Birmingham Gi lgan House (Oakvi l le ) . After retiring in 1997, she sailed south w i t h S t a n l e y o n t h e i r y a c h t , "Twosome", to Florida, the Bahamas and beyond. Every summer they ventured out onto Lake Ontario for their annual trip on the boat. She is survived by Warren, his wife Cheryl and thei r daughter Samantha; Christopher, his wife Joanne, and their two boys Spencer and Quinten; Mark, his wife Lesley; and Michael, his wife Suzanne, and their two children Jeremy and Jacqueline. Stanley was born in Coventry, England and served in the Roya l Navy (1944-1947) as a telegraphist aboard warships. Immigrating to Canada with his new wife, Janet, in 1957, he was an Electrical Engineering Technologi s t in Toronto , la ter taking up residence in Oakville and fathering four boys, Warren, Chris, Mark, and Michael. He acquired a reputat ion dur ing h i s years in Canada for being a gentleman, enthusiastic outdoorsman and all r o u n d s p o r t s m a n e x c e l l i n g a t badminton in his later years. After retiring from Teleglobe in 1991, he sailed his 29' Alberg "TWOSOME" to Florida and the Bahamas, where he r e s i d e d f o r t w o y e a r s b e f o r e returning. In addition to being a doting grandfather to Samantha, Jeremy, Spencer, Jacqueline, and Quinten, he supported his wife's volunteering efforts at Oakville's Wel l spr ing B i rmingham Gi lgan House, particularly where children suffering from cancer were involved.
