Robert Franklin McArdle, 91, of Woodstock and formerly of Hickson passed away peacefully with family by his side at Caressant Care Woodstock on Monday, December 30, 2019.

Bob was born at Stratford on October 28, 1928 a son of the late George and Edna (McLeod) McArdle.

Bob had owned and operated McArdle Auto Body at Hickson; had worked at Elliott Bros Automobile Dealership in Woodstock, Stratford Motor Products in Stratford and owned and operated Hidden Valley near Hickson with his wife, Joyce, for 40 years.

He married the former Joyce Anna LeSouder at Stratford on October 6, 1949. She predeceased him on May 28, 2019.

Bob is survived by three children, Christine and husband John Huras of R.R. 6, Woodstock; Robert Jr. "Bob" and wife Tina McArdle, George and wife Jacky McArdle, all of Woodstock; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Leona and husband Joe Matika, Shirley and husband Marlin Thompson and Ida Jean Paquette; "LeSouder" brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Dale and Madeline LeSouder, Gladys and Mike Tigani.

He was predeceased by brothers and sisters-in-law, Gordon and Audrey McArdle, Laverne and Eva McArdle; his sister and brothers-in-law, Dorothy and Leslie Flood and Gary Paquette and several "LeSouder" brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Relatives and friends will be received in the Francis Funeral Home, 77 Woodstock Street North, Tavistock on Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at 11 a.m. Pastor David Tigani will officiate. Reception following. Interment in McTavish Cemetery will be at a later date.
