Notes: Mother of Bruce Crown Attorney Passes Here. She was in her 78th year.
The deceased, whose maiden name was Essie Vance, was born and raised on the 4th con. Arran near the village of Arkwright, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Vance, pioneer settlers of that district. In 1881 at the age of twenty she was married to Mr. John Freeborn, the young couple taking up farming on the Freeborn homestead, six miles south-west of Tara, where they continued to reside until 1914, when they disposed of the property and retired to live in Owen Sound, where after commemorating their golden wedding in 1931, Mr. Freeborn passed away three years later in 1934.
