Mrs. Ford, the mother of Mrs. Edward Kilmer, died Tuesday afternoon.

-Mrs. Rachel Ford, the mother of Miss Ford and Mrs. Kilmer, died at Walkerton on the 14th inst, at the venerable age of 88 years. Mrs. Ford was the widow of Jacob Ford of Trenton Ont. Who died ther over twenty years ago. She was a native of Hastings Co. and was a daughter of Lt. Col. Bell of the British army, who distinguished himself in the AMerican Revolutionary War and afterwards raised a force in Canada for service during the War of 1812. At the semi-centennial celebration of Toronto. Not long since Dr. Canniff read some interesting memoris of Canadian early history from teh pen of Col. Bell. Mrs. Fords mother was a member of the U.E. loyalist families who settled the Bay of Quinte district, after the close of the revolutionary war, and received large grants of land from the British government- (Not Recorded In Full)
