The substance of the brain was healthy, but there was effusion otf blood in the left ventricles. \n examining the wound op~ posite the external angle of the left eyse, there was found a compound communeted tracture of all the bones forming the orbit of the eye. except the nasal, and the eye itself was in a -Lpolo- mass. . The soft parts of the left side of the face were in a bruised condition, and clotted with: blood. ‘The wound at the angle of the eye was caused by some blunt instrument. From information received since holding the examination he came to the conclusion it was caused by repeated blow=. The side of the face was so bruised thit :t was impossiole to say whether the wound was caused by rumoling or by blows. Thought the wound at the angle of the oye was made by the same force as caused bruises on face. Might have been caused by re of head, against a hard substance. mpo-ibh that wound w«s caused by bead coming in contact with the spokes o. a waggon in rapid motion. The external Dr. McGillivmay was then sworn and said he agreed with Dr. Sweetland both as regards facts and opinions. Made post mortem examination with Dr. Swesetland. On examining the viscers of the Moracia and abdominal cavities the organs were all found to be perfectly healthy, except some old adhe ions of the left pleura. J. SWEETLAND, m.D. D.
