TK I OH. LE DUC "The Big Dog Derby at the Pas, Maâ€" nitoba, will be held this year on Feâ€" bruary 28th. It is expected that 19 or 20 teams will be entered for the event. s g1in@. All the corrtents of the top of Mrs, Kenning‘s dressing stand were taken, including rings, pins, toilet arâ€" ticles, ete, Apparently the thieves Just swept everything handy into bags or bazkets and made away with ail that could be easily gathered. The police were notified of the robâ€" bery and have been busy on the case since. It is hoped to bring the guilty parties to trial very shortly. The robbery was discovered by Mr. and . Mrs. Kenning on their return from the hockey match when they noticed that the house seemed sonicâ€" what disarranged. Investigation showâ€" ed that a large quantity of valuable articles kad disappeared. Further inâ€" vestigation showed that the back door had been broken up, the thieves apâ€" parently gaining entrance that way. Evidently the thieves were well acâ€" quainted with the house and had watched Mr. and Mrs. Kenning leave the place. Apparently the house was then entered and the goods hurried ly gathered together and removed. Robbers visited the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Kenning on Thursday night while they were at the hockey match and stole goods to an estimatâ€" ed value of $1200.00 or more, and some articles with a sentimental vaâ€" lue that can not be figured in dollars and cents. Among the goods stolen were articles of jewelry of various kinds, inelnding gifts to Mrs. Kenâ€" ning from her father which wore prized beyond any price; a tailored suit of Mrs. Kennings, silk stockings, dresses and other valuable articles of clothing; silverware; novelties; toilet articles; documents, etc., ete.
