MEETING CALLED HERE ) NORTHLAND WWT NJ2TH ORGANIZE C. A.5. BRANCH LAND MFA OX COMINISSION All in the District Interested in Childâ€" ren and Good Citizenship Invited To Council Chamber Tomorrow Evening. south Tisda urged __The need for an active branch of %lfe Children‘s Aid Society in this disâ€" trict has been‘ apparent for some years past. The Advance in years past. has repeatedly emphasized the need, and Mr. R. LeHeup, the Inspectâ€" or of the Temiskaming C.A.S. has made several efforts to establish an organization here. The Temiskaming Branch of the C. A.S. with headquarâ€" ters at Haileybury has been handicapâ€" organization here. The Temiskaming Branch of the C. A.S. with headquarâ€" ters at Haileybury has been handicapâ€" ped in dealing with the work here on account of the immense territory atâ€" tempted to be covered. Such an imâ€" mense territory as that now left to the sole attention of the Temiskaming C. A. 8. could not possibly be covered scope sho morrow ev in the Co invitation and all wh 1J mense territory as that now lelt 1O the sole attention of the Temiskaming C. A. 8. could not possibly be covered effectively by the one organization and the oge agent with the means now at command. ‘The Poreupine Camp offers opportunity for very effective work for a branch. Rev. Mr. Parks and others here have interested themâ€" selves in the matter and the result is that a public meeting has been called for organization. This meeting will be beld in the Council Chamhers, Timâ€" mins, tomorrow (Thursday) evening at 8 o‘clock, and all good citizens are earnest!ly requested to attend and asâ€" sist. His Worship the Mayor reâ€" eognizes the usefulness of the C. A. 8. and is accordingly inttbrested in the work here. Rev. Fr. Therriault is anâ€" other prominent citizen interested in the work and expected to ‘be present. The Police Magistrate for the district, Mr. S. Atkinson, is an enthusiast reâ€" garding C. A.S. work, because he knows the work and is a lover of children and a believer in giving them a fair chance as the best means to hay ing good citizenship. Mr. Atkinson will be at the meeting tomorrow evenâ€" irg. Mr. C. G. Every public expression reâ€" rarding the matter, with the excepâ€" tion of Cochrane‘s attitude, may be summed up in the words, ‘‘The North Land wants North Land men on the North Land‘s Railway Commission."‘ Cochrane‘s attitude is unduly biased, rejudiced ‘by the fact that Cochrane can see nothin# and think of nothing This Fact Should B2 Strongly Imâ€" pressed Upon the Government.
