Also, on ‘FriélaLy evening at iflyieIo,ck,j, special public service will be conducted in the church. The theme will be "'The Crucifixion of Our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ." 'Lesson 1. April. 1. Confessing and following Christ. Matthew 16th chap- ter, verses 16 - 26: The, Heart of the Lesson Confessing Christ must necessarily result in following Christ. The con- fession is concerning who he is. No leader of so-called religions ever centered attention upon himself as the heart of his religion by asking as the supreme, essential question; "Whom say ye that I am '?" If Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of the living God, then He is the only Saviour, and he is the Lord, for he is God. The Saviour must be a Crucified Saviour, and following him must be a, confes- sion of myself as the lost sinner for whom Christ died, and then the fol- lowing of Christ in resurrection life and in fellowship with his sufferings (Phillipians 3rd chapter, verse. 10.) Anyone who does not confess that Jesus Christ is God our Saviour, and that he did of necessity die for our sins, that he did rise again on the third day, is not following Christ. But he who thus confesses, does so by supernatural power, and thus by that same power he is enabled to follow Christ, and have the glory that Peter had of Christ confessing him( Mat- thew 16: verse IT.) Golden text: Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.--Matthew 16: 16. Fire destroyed the farm dwelling house owned by Sidor Wilcovesky, better known as the Jasper McCol- 1orn farm, southwest of the village. This was a large frame structure, built many years ago, was 60x36 feet, and the siding of two sides and one end was taken from one pine tree, which was bought at that time for ten shilling. It was an old land mark, and was built by Mr. McCollom around 80 years ago. Mr. Wilcoverky's family have lived there two years.
