This week the other teams evidently reâ€" | solved that the teachersâ€"inâ€"training must be humbled for the green _ and gold trailed dust in both games. The GRIMSBY team sprung a distinct surprise in the opening fixture. Pre viously the Veniâ€"Vidiâ€"Vici‘s had deâ€" cisively defeated the Eagles, While‘ they in turn had defeated GRIMSBY. As a result the Normalites were calâ€" led to win by a good margin but the GRIMSBY girls not only defeated them ‘but did it effectively. At haltâ€" | time the teams were tied, but in the zsecond half the high school, using â€" a 'short, fast pass, kept their opponents bewildered and ran the score up to 16 to 9. By their showing last night in defeating the leaders the GRIMSBY girls will be strong contenders _ for the championship. It is high time that the citizens of GRIMSBY woke up and provided an athletic field for summer sports and an artificial rink and gymnasium for winter sports for the younger generâ€" ations. The GRIMSBY team in both their games in Hamiton have been badly beaten in the first half but have came back strong in the second half. This state of affairs is brought about by the fact that the team have no place to practice in ibetween games, This team have demonstrated time and again during the past two years that they can hold their own with any team that takes the floor with them, and it is a shame that:they are compelleq to play their games withâ€" out anyâ€"practice whatever. Great credit is due the GRIMSBY girls for the wonderful showing they are making, under the great handiâ€" cap of having no place in which to practice.
