That the resignation of the present Road Superintendent be acâ€" cgpted to take effect February ist, 1921. Speaking to the resolution Reeve Mitchell stated that he had work on the present road system under the present superintendent for a year and the reforms which he recomâ€" mended were those which he saw were urgent. The people, he said, are tired of the way in which their money is being spent and something will have to be done, to reorganize the system. The greatest need, Reeve Mitchell, felt was for an enâ€" gineer who could give the cost of . &. piece of roadway before it was conâ€" structed. We were led to believe, he said, that certain roads were comâ€" pleted last year and we find that a top dressing or other work is still reâ€" quired. In conclusion Reeve Mitchâ€" ell stated that his only object in preâ€" senting the resolution was to have the work go on in a better manner. Reeve Welstead felt that there were some good points in the resoluâ€" tion but thought that it dealt with two separate subjects. We e Reeve Masters intimated that the resolutions presented some big prOâ€" blems and that it was too brd it had not been presented at an earlier data He felt that there were some good suggestions in the motion yut dia not think there was time to debate the issues. a Reeve Farrell did not think there was any question but that mistakes h~d been made and suggested that some â€" recommendation should . be made to the incoming council that a change was needed. Four young men entered the resiâ€" dence of Jacob Crow, a man of about 60 years. They ransacked the house and going to Crow‘s bedroom, took $20 from his trousers pocket. Crow was awakened ‘by the noise, ‘but the marauders threatenged his life if he "started anything." After, the robâ€" bers had left, Crow attempted to telephone but found that the wires had been cut. He got assistance and traced the men some distance over the fields ang found a rubber in the soft mud. In the house a hammer and a knife were found which had evidently been left by the visitors.
