ALLAN, w J *R THE INDEPENDENT, GRIMSBY. ONTARIO H. C. SMALL Secretary. n "J P.F. 3368 Jimmy enjoys a reputation of being the most expert safe opener known. The touch of his delicate, sensitive finger tips is irresistible. One day a little girl, sister of Rose Lane, his financee, is accidently locked in the kank safe. Nobody is at hand who knows the combination that will open it. The child seems doomed to suffoâ€" cation. In tke crisis Leeâ€" Randall comes forweard. A convincing, logica!l story, giving opportunities for strorg, natural act ing and sincere cmotivnalism. Robert Warwick in the character of Jimmy Valentine has one of the strongest acting parts ecver presented on the screen. With fingerâ€"tip3 that have heen pared to the quick for the work, â€" he toils steadfaistly and silently until he cpers the safe. The child is released. But on the evidence of this work the waiting detective arrests him. Te in tervention of Rose, however, sesures Lee‘s final deliverance, as the detecâ€" tive concedes that she has _ more rneed of him than the Slate of Massaâ€" chusetts. j He is given a chance in a bank, of which .Mr. Lane is the president, He "goes straight." Hisgs old associates are after him, but he wards them off. The detectives try to pounce on him for offences on which ne may be conâ€" victed, but he adroitly proves an alibi every time. , For Egg Associations The longâ€"suffering local grocer in some communities has a hard propoâ€" tion to sell the _ consumer "strictly fresh egg" from those that are often offered him. He would like to buy better eggs and could afford to pay more for them â€" if eggs of certified quality were offered in such numâ€" bers that he could build up a freshâ€" egg‘ trade. It is keld by the departâ€" ment of farm management of "‘the Nebraska agricultural college that practically the only way that the con sumer may get satisfaction (and get eggs that in the long run will really be cheaper, despite the fact that they may cost a little more), the only way that the merchant may make a fair profit, and the only way the farmer may get what fresh egsgs are worth, is to coâ€"operate. If an asâ€" sociation of several producers Will agree to furnish eggs bearing the date of laying on each egg, together with the name or number of the pro ducer, and furnish them regularly and in such quantities that they may be recognizec in the market, there seemps little doubt that it would work an economic benefit for the entire community, To be seen at Moore‘s â€" ‘Theatre, Oct. 16, 1915. Pte. 0. S. Teeft desires to tiank the ladies of the GRIMSBY Women‘s Institute for the parcels of comforts sent with kim to be distributed â€" to the GRIMSBY boys at Niagara Carip. Rose has fallen ?’n love with her savios, and her love does not diminish with the lapse . of three years.
