The Municipal Council of the Township of South Grimsby met pursuant to statute, at Brants Hall, Smithville on Monday the 13th day of January 1908, at 11 o‘clock a. m. The members after having made their declarations of qualifi cation and office took their seats. Members present, J. L. Merritt, Reeve; Councillors, J. A. Book, J. H.~ Erb; I_ Nelson, A. W Reid. The minutes of last regular meeting were read and confirmed Communications were read, from J. Ross Robertson asking for a grant to the Sick Childrens Hospital; from J. A. Livingston offering to do the ordinary township printing for the year 1908, for $65; from J. S. Baker giving notice of a defective sluice causing damage to his property; from F. W. Patterson giving statement for .R. Div. 34; from J. Collins a statement of tax collection. Application for the office of Auditor was received from T. W. Shipman; for Collector from ]J. Collins; for Assessor from R. C. Evans at a salary of $40, and from M. Nelson, Moved by Mr Erb, seconded by Mr Nelson, that Brants Hall be rented from J. A. Schnick for all Township and Division ‘Court purâ€" poses for the year 1908 at $35 per year.
