The baby is, in one sense, only potentially a human being. If he were isolated from all human contacts and yet kept alive he would grow up into something very much unlike the human being we know. Tier on Tuesday, April 28, at his home on Cordova Ave. Born 82 years ago in a small roughâ€"cast house now adjacent to Islington United Church on Burnhamthorpe Rd., Mr. Tier has lived in the community virtually all his life. He was a former reeve of Etobicoke Townâ€" ship, and served on the township council from 1918 to 1926. He reâ€" tired 13 years ago from a position as general agent for the Masseyâ€" Harris Company in Ontario. Mr. Tier received his public school education in the township, and attended Streetsville High School. With his family he was an active member of St. George‘s Churchâ€"onâ€"theâ€"Hill.
