It takes lots of diamonds to fight a war. Production plants of the United States alone used more than a ton of them in a single war yulr in various types of cutting tools. "A" Coy wasn‘t up to full strength by any means, but we showed up some of the Toâ€" ronto companies, nevertheless. Inâ€" cidentally, we welcomed into out ranks three more recruits. If this keeps up we will soon have to have another company in Weston. Q.Y.R. + The first part of the evening was spent in the brigade room where "A" Coy was ‘given a special showing of some films specially prepared for the army, i.@, no "Mickey Mouse". One of the films dealt with the care and use of the rifle, another very good one on camouflage, _and the third a "SNAFU". (Figure that one out for yourself). We were all shocked to hear of Pte, Jack Sedgewick‘s unfortunate accident on ‘Tuesday of last week. Jack almost let a saw take his leg off somewhere above the knee, but fortunately it didn‘t go into the bone. He has spent a week or so in Western Hospital and will be laid up at home for some time. We all hope for a speedy and comâ€" plete recovery for you, Jack. ol * Q.YR. _ _ _ Col. Reeve told us he had â€"been complimented upon the Queen‘s York Rangers making the best showing of all the reserve units in the Victory Loan parade a couple of weeks ago, and "A" Coy took a generous portion of the praise to themselves, of course. We were very much afraid for awhile that it was going to be a "Corporal‘s Guard" protecting the robot and amphibious duck from the swarms of youngsters who anxiously awaited their arrival a week ago last Saturday, but forâ€" MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS Every candidate for Municipal office is required, when filing flia declaration of qualification with the Town Clerk, to also file with such declaration a certificate, signâ€" ed by the Treasurer or Collector of Taxes, that against the land in respect of which the candidate ‘q;:nlifies there are at the time of the nomination no taxes of a preâ€" ceding year or years overdue and unpaid.
