The way is paved for immediate action. WAY PAVED FOR BETTER SEA Draft Agreement Approved by T.T.C., York Township and Weston It was a representative gathering that met in the office of D. E.. Harâ€" vie, general manager, in the, T.T.C. ofâ€" fices, and for three hours discussed, pro _ and con, half a dozen questions hitherto unsettled. : it From‘ Weston came Mayor. Flynn, Reeve Sainsbury, . Deputy Farr and Councillors Webster, _ Mertens, Bearâ€" dall, Graham,. Murray, Pollett and Harry Musson, town clerk, and Howâ€" ard Gray, solicitor, .and. from York Township, _ Reeve . Graham, Deputy Reeves R. J. Megregor, . Clouston, Westbury, and Councillors Armstrong, McQueen, Baker. Throughout the proâ€" ceedings were harmonious,, though at times spirited, with everybody anxious to arrive at some conclusion... The one question that gave rise to considerable discussion was a clause relating to, the possible future instalâ€" lation, of a fast motor service on the Weston Road, from Weston to the city limits.. While there was no, obâ€" jection on the part of York Township men so far as Weston was concerned, they objected strenuously to the pickâ€" ing up and setting down of passenâ€" gers within the township limits without the consent of the municipality, and finally won their point. , So confident are the York Township Council of the success of the underâ€" taking that it will next week call for tenders for the double tracking of the ‘Weston Road from the city limits to ‘theâ€",southerly end of Weston. From that point northerly the single track over which the C.N.R. now operates the Toronto Suburban will not be inâ€" terfered with until traffic conditions warrant it. > The installation of sewers in Mount Dennis in advance of track laying is going rapidly on, and will be rushed to completion as soon as possible. The question of a 21â€"year franchise on which Mayor Flynn at one time based his chief objections to the proâ€" posed undertaking was never even brought up in the discussion, having been accepted by all the contracting parties as necessary to a "roundâ€"up" of the whole scheme. The other clausâ€" es were adopted practically in toto and at the conclusion there was general congratulation all round. A young lady. who, was,,, driving a motor car for the first time, in her life had the misfortune to .collide with a pedestrian ~and. injure him, . slightly She stopped the car and ran to his asâ€" sistance. . Thinking the . poor fellow might wish to be taken home she said to him. anxiously. "Have. you a,wife?" No. miss,". groaned the victim. "up to now this is the worst thing that ever happened to me." ‘TFommyâ€""Oh, mummy, I saw a man making a horse toâ€"day." . Tommyâ€""Oh! yes, they are! I saw the man finishing nailing the feet on." Motherâ€""Surely you must have made a mistake, Tommy. â€" Horses areâ€" n‘t made." / Three, weeks will be required for adâ€" vertising the byâ€"law for submission to the people of Weston, after which the vote will be taken.
