Friday evening, Feb. 27th, there will be a big night at Humber Lodge. It is Past Master's night and on this oc- casion General Mercer Lodge, of West Toronto. and the D.D.G.M., Dr. Hull, of Mimico Lodge, will be present. All members are asked to keep this date in, mind and visitors will be made wel- come. With the passing away of the Verrall house it opens up the way top an ideal town park it" this could be secured by Our own fathers. An organization meeting of the Forward Movement campaign work- ers of (the Methodist Church wily be held in ‘the church Thursday evening at S p.m. Rev. Archer Wallace of Toronto will address the gathering. The committee are very enthusiastic and indications point to a very suc- cessful issue, with the objective reach- ed by Tuesday evening. A meeting of the citizens interested in poultry and pet stock will be held Wednesday at 8 run. in Farley's bar- ber shop. Main Street, for the pur- pose of forming an association. A good attendance is hoped for, so that the work may be got under way for a Speedy organization. Everybody On Tuesday, Feb. 24th, Mr. James Bagg of Downsview is having an auc- tion sale of farm stock and imple- ments, a full list of which appears in another column. On the cattle list will be noticed a, number of register- ed Holsteins. Among others, one bull, No. 26672, Rex Segis DeKol. Through an oversight the name does not ap- pear on the large bills, only the regis- ter number, but in the advt. and handbills the full name and number are inserted. come Remember Wednesday night, Feb- ruarsr 4th, is the big night at Thistle- town Arena. Norman A. Faulkner, a wounded veteran-ot Lens, will make his first appearance in this commun- ity, and give an exhibition of skating on one leg. Mihy find this a. diffi- cult feat to perform gracefully and well, .when not handicapped by the loss of a limb. Here is a man with a speed record before going overseas and on his return he is still proficent and will demonstrate that though handicapped he is not disabled. Come and see him. Your presence will en- courage him in the life he has chosen. Electrical development has been so great during the past few years that to-day everybody finds it pays to replace many household articles-Heaters, Stoves, Percolators, for Electri- cal Appliances. One of the great savers of the day is a small Electric Motor for the sewing machine. See it and you will recognize its value. Our local dealers, Graham & Car- ton, were at the annual dealers' con- vention ot the Ontario Ford dealers. Some three hundred men gathered at the general offices, Toronto, last week and had one big time. The morning was spent in a complete in- spection of the plant and their great equipment. This office and store rooms are the best that you, will see in many a long day's journey. Dur- ing the noon hour lunch was served to the whole delegation at the plant. They then adjourned to the King Ed.. ward Hotel for the afternoon and evening conferences. During the 81-. ternoon the many improvements upon the old car were spoken of. This all met with the universal approval. They have many features added that will aid the dealers in this year's business. The one great fear expressed by the heads was that they would not be able to meet the demands for cars. Dur- ing the evening; the delegates all sat down to a big banquet at which all made merry. - Tre first ‘concert put on in Weston under the auspices of the band last Thursday and Friday proved to be a very successful and pleasing event. Mayor John Gardhouse and Reeve J. M. Gardhouse occupied the chair and gave a, few words of welcome to the large number gathered on both occa- sions. Ben Hokea and the Hokea Quartette carried their listeners far away to the sunny south and as on his former visit received hearty encores. Mrs. Elmer Bedggood was also greet- ed with applause, and responded gen- erously. Joe Williams in his comic selections caused many a hearty laugh, and his costumes added much to his appearance, Mrs. S. S. Hughes as pianist also contributed to the en- joyment of all with her well rendered accompaniments, and the band, which has rendered such excellent service during the past, is to be congratulated on the entertainment provided for their friends. What are your plans for the great Forward Movement? Will you do your part to put it over? It is indeed the great opportunity of christianity to come before the people of Canada with some force. sr.CSe2rdYdN 75VOVI: COMING EVENTS There You Are MOUNT DENNIS 5---Monthly meeting Brigade, in brigade 3.192319% "' JOHN T.
