I 9# Sergt. Nathan Telford is reported to have died .of wounds after being wounded three times and winning the Military Medal. He was a Lancashire man, and had been in Canada three years. Before enlisting he resided at George Street, Mimico. He was 23 years of age. The names of Pte. â€"W. Johnston and Pte. G. Palmer, of Mimico, apâ€" pears on the wounded casualty list this week. Application has been granted to business men of New Toronto to form a Board of Trade. The regular monthly meeting of the Emery Ladies‘ War Auxiliary will be held in the Home Circle Hall, Enâ€" ery, on Wednesday, May 2nd. All the ladies of the vicinity are given a corâ€" dial invitation to attend. The regular meeting of the school board was held in the school house last week. After considerable disâ€" cussion a plan submitted by Chairâ€" man Fokens for beautifying the grounds was adopted. It was decidâ€" ed to enter upon the course of agriâ€" cultural stifly as sent out by the Deâ€" partment of Education. Several acâ€" counts were passed and other routine business transacted. * The many friends of Miss Foster will be glad to know that she is proâ€" gressing favbrably after her operation, although still confined to the hospiâ€" tal. Phillips, on Wednesday afterâ€" noon. The committee in charge of the Harden. Benefit Concert have secured an array of excellent talent for their entertainment to be given on Friday night, April 27th. An evening of high class music is assured and a generous response asked for. These men have been under orders for some ten days. It looked like a farce, the coming out and saying farewell. The 220th men are all eager to change their camp.
