The? 27 buildings of the NOW APPEARING New born lambs should prove to be a hit with the youngsters, as will the other Village animals ranging from oxen to chickens, geese, pigs, horses, cattle, ducks and guinea fowl. Village have been restored and furnished, to that time and staff members go about the daily living tasks of the pioneers in the same fashion they were done a century ago, thereby bringing the Village to life. Over the holiday weekend events such as sheep shearing, rail splitting, candle dipping, plowing, harrowing and seeding will be carried out by the Villagers as they recreate the duties of the pioneers at this time of year. Different special events are scheduled for the Village on weekends between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. during the year. Visitors can browse through the Village general store, Laskay's Emporium, and even send mail from the post office at the back of the store if they wish. The mail will be postmarked "Black Creek Village, Ontario," and thousands of pieces are sent from the post office each year. other buildings in the Village include a harness shop, general store, blacksmith shop, fire house, shoe maker's shop, a school, printer's office, church, artisan's house, gentleman's house, the Half Way House inn and Roblin's flour mill. The Dalziel Barn Museum at the Village is also in- triguing. Originally built in 1809 the barn formed part of the nucleus of buildings jfor the development of Black Creek, and is now used as a museum. It contains exhibits of early life in Ontario in- cluding flax processing, stump pulling, meat processing, a sugar bush operation, homespun ar- ticles and weaving, an inter- nationally famous 19th century toy collection, unusual carvings of pioneer artisans at work, and a display of pioneer stoves. Visitors can take a hor- sedrawn wagon ride to the museum from the Village. In May and June, the Village is open between 9:30 am. and 5 p.m. on week- days, and on weekends and holidays between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. in May, and between 10 am. and 6:30 p.m. in June, July, and August.
