Every so often we join forces with the Don Withrows and venture into the field of gourâ€" met cuisine. Our most recent field trip in the interests of exotic eating took us to one of Toronto‘s most highlyâ€"touted French restauâ€" rants and we must agree the food was excellentâ€"but was it French ? Our hors d‘hoevres consisted of a plate of delicatelyâ€"spiced slicss of meat with a distinctly Shopsyâ€"like flavor. Shades of Spadina Avenue, not the Reu de la Paix. Along with the chicken preâ€" pared in the traditional manner of Gaul with wine and mushâ€" rooms came, of all things, a baked potato smothered in sour cream. Delightful but more reminiscent of Idaho than Paris. French pastries for dessert? Don‘t be silly. I concluded my meal in a blaze of: English trifle. All of which, you‘ll have to agree, adds up to cosmopolitan eating. But that little French restaurant is just about as French as I am. With BACK TO ETOBICOKE SUPERIOR DISCOUNT 2 CAMTON T.
