The Giants were off and running with a homerun by R. O‘Neill and then another homer in the second inning by B. Polanski of the Giants. R. O‘Neill for the Giants again in the third inning homered to make the score 3 to 0. The Reds went to bat in the third inning and got on the scoreâ€" sheet with three runs tying the game. They tallied another two runs in the fourth and three more in the fifth while holding the Giants scoreless. D, Fenwick for the Giants in the sixth homâ€" ered and brought in a run also making the score tighter. The Seniors, Red Sox and Yanks commenced play with Yanks B. Stevack belting the first homer of the game. The Red Sox went to bat and reâ€" corded two runs to assume ‘the lead in the game. The third inâ€" ning was a big one for the Yanks for they tallied six runs with one of them being a homer by J. Bussey. Then in the final inning there was another run by R. O‘Neill for the Giants, but time ran out on them and this game finished with the score reading Reds 8 â€" Giants 6. The Yanks came to bat and countered with only one run, making the score read, 7 to 3. Play was tight in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings, where only one run per team was regisâ€" tered. In the seventh the Yanks went for four runs after they had played two out. Then the Red Sox came to bat for their last half of the inning, they marked up‘ four runs also, but with the bases loaded and a possible tying run at homeâ€" plate the batter struck out for the third out of the inning. In the second inring the Dodgers went to bat, scored seven runs and never looked back till game end. The Dodger players held the Braves to very small score innings while they pulled all stops when they went to bat. The Braves started a rally im the sixth inning, but they were too far down the ladder and the Dodgers had a little too much in reserve. _ They, _ the _ Dodgers came back in the seventh inning and chalked up five more runs to make the game more convinâ€" cing. This game wound up with the score reading Dodgers 2Â¥ â€" Braves 14 The Seniors in the ‘B‘ Series were the Angels and the Athâ€" letics. The Angels tallied five runs in the first two innings while holding, the Athletics scoreâ€" less. Then in the third inning the Athletics came up with four runs right behind the Angels were letics the Angels blew their time at bat recording one run, while the Athleties came up with three runs to put them in a greater lead. The last time at bat for the Angels and lacking power they fell nearly one, two, three. This game closed off with the score reading Athletics 11 â€" 9. The Semiâ€"finals _ being _ over _ this mpeant that in the Senior Section the First and Second Teams The fourth was a tight one for both teams played three up, three down. In the fifth both trams went on a scoring spree and this time the Athletics pullâ€" ed even with the Angels. Thursday, June 25 the Final Playoffs got under way with the Reds and Dodgers meeting on the Junior Diamond. Both teams recorded three runs in the first inning and then the Reds broke out in the second inning, scored six runs and never looked back until game end. Both pitchers, G. Murphy for the Reds and H. Galus for the Dodgers worked hard at their jobs, but it was G. Murphy‘s teamâ€"mates who seized every opportunity when it came to running _ bases. The â€" Dodgers shone with a big inning in the seventh which increased their score, but not enough to catch those Reds. This â€" game _ finished _ amid cheers and applause with the score reading Reds 21 â€" Dodgers 15. Coaches W. Cherry and G. McCallum had the pleasant duty of presenting to each player of the winning team a crest and inâ€" dividual trophy. The Runnerâ€"np team, the Dodgers received their crests from their coaches, W. Ellis and R. McCullough. were beaten out of the playoffs. In the Junior Section the top team and the fourth place team came out on top to play the final. Over on the Senior Diamond the third and fourth place teams were battling to establish the Playoff Champions. The Yanks started thepscoring right in the first inni and continued throâ€" ugh to the@third coming up with a 5 to 1 Ifad. It wasn‘t until the sixth inning that the Athletics started to make their move, they recorded four runs with one of them a homer by R. Good. The girls teams were all tied in the standings last week but at the end of this week only two are tied. The game was well controlled by referee Paul Avis, and alâ€" though there were some infrinâ€" gements, they were of a clean type. There were no injuries. Three goals, two by Soroka one by Moffat, gnd Thistle were comfortably _ ahead â€" _ they thought! MeNeil, however, came back strongly with two goals in the first half and another in the second, to tie it up. Thistle should have had this game by a good margin, but lost opportunâ€" ities through a tendency to hang on to the ball and to tee up goal shots. Several of the Thistle players, on finding that they were up against inexperience were tempted to show off and tried to beat too many men. This will be a tough our boys are gaining and confidence with and I think they will one. Result, a tie, instead of a deâ€" cisive win. As this was a knockâ€" out competition game, it will have to be replayed in the near future. Thistle‘s next game is at Stanâ€" ley July 5, 2:30 p.m. against Ukraina.
