York-Finch General hospital is looking for volunteers for a women's auxiliary and so there will be a coffee party at Westview centennial school on the 26 from 7 to 9 p.m. to discuss this. There is no obligation other than desire to help this fine community project. l A lady called the other day to say the cardinal that tapped on their basement windows every day last winter has started his tap-tapping again. Apparently this is the method of the male bird at mating time to declare the bounds of his property but this particular pretty fellow taps out his Property line every morning. He is very 'colorful but has no crest as most male cardinals have. He starts early in the morning flyi.ng from a lilac bush and taps on the windows on the one side of the house and during the day works around to the other side. He gladly accepts the food that is offered 'but they don't think it is food he taps for. The family enjoyed watching their feathered friend all last winter and are overjoyed that he has remained with them for this season. This is an open meeting and anyone interested in the topic is welcome.
