| Mrs. E. Kent and Mrs. A. Newâ€" ton had the honour of attending a garden party at the home of the Honourable J. Keiller MacKay and Mrs. MacKay, July 8, 1967. They . were invited to yepresent the Smith apartments and to display their centennial quilt. The design of the quilt is original and is the work of Mrs. M. Porter, Mrs. R. Stenson, Mrs. E. Hall, Mrs. E. Kent and Mrs. A. Newton. If you are at the CNE this year don‘t fail to visit the Queen Elizabeth building where the quilt will be on display. I believe the plan is to raffle off the quilt at a bazaar to be held at the apartments later in the fall. A clinic for brainâ€"damaged chilâ€" dren will be held from August 14 to 26 at Pine Point community centre. At that time Mrs. Marâ€" garet George of the Institute for the Achievement of Human Poâ€" tential at Alberta will be present to evaluate the progress of the children who are on the program. This is the third clinic of this kind to be held in Ontario. The first took place last January as a result of an investigation of this method of treating brain damaged children conducted by the Social Responsibility Committee of the Unitarian Fellowship of Northâ€" west Toronto, The committee is responsible for organizing these clinics with the cooperation of the Rexdale Lions club who donate the use of Pine Point community centre. Prior to last January all children on the program had to be taken either to Banff, Alberta or to Philadelphia for progress evalâ€" uation every three months. Drama group finds children are responsive ‘There are 89 patients in Onâ€" tario now on the program under the â€" Banffâ€" supervision, â€" coming from such places as Arnprior, Grimsby, _ Ansonville, London, Sault Ste Marie, Kitchener, Waterâ€" loo, Thorold, Bridgeport, Queenâ€" ston, Welland, to name a few as well as 16 from the Toronto area. There are also several other Onâ€" tario patients who travel to Philâ€" adelphia for their Tegular revisits. The Studio Children‘s Theatre | has played this summer in Kitchâ€" ener, _ Waterloo, Oakville, and Hamilton. Thanks to a grant from the Ontario Arts Council, they are : ‘making plans for a busy August, taking their plays to children in Ajax, Cobourg, Belleville, Lindsay, Midland and St. Catharines. | Another clinic will be held from September 18 to 22 at Pine Point community centre. This clinic will be for new patients and both Dr. Raymond Fleming and Mrs. Jack searches desperately for a place to hide from the giant who is after him; somehow he must escape and cut the beanstalk down. Sod turning will mark new building Help is present, in the form of 400 children who are watching the Studio Children‘s Theatre perforâ€" mance. The children band together to keep Jack hidden from the giant, and later they all stand up and swing at the beanstalk to help fell it. Jack and the children will be atriving together â€" to defeat the giant at James S. Bell Public School tomorrow at 10 a.m. All Etobicoke children and their parents are invited to come and take part in the creative dramatics program sponsored by the Recreaâ€" tion Committee. Next Thursday the Studio Chilâ€" dren‘s Theatre will present Pinocâ€" chio at three performances around Etobicoke.
