For the Dodgers its golfâ€"clubs, for Westclair its more hockey. That is the sad story as far as the Dodgers are concerned. On Friday night the Dodgers gave it a good try to keep alive, but just couldn‘t get past the Steelâ€" ers. It was by far the best game of the series. I think that if the Last Tuesday night the third game.of the series saw the Stelâ€" ers completely outplay the Dodâ€" gers. A first period goal by John Hughes for the Steelers and a nice goal by Dave Parham left the score at 1â€"1. Bell Lewis put the Steelers ahead in the second period. The third period saw goals by Kelly and Lowe put the Steelers ahead 4 to 1, a lead which they did not give up, to take a backâ€"breaking lead in the series 3â€"0. Friday night saw the same start as the previous 3 games. Westclair took the lead on 2 nice goal by John Hughes at the 18 minute mark of the first period. > + The second period saw the Dodgers come out with a real do or die effort. Dave Parham got a nice pass at the 10 minute mark from Steve McDonald and made no mistake as he beat Mcâ€" Laughlan cleanly, to put the Dodgers on even terms. With 20 seconds left in the second Dodgers had played the other game of the series saw the Steelâ€" have still been in there. The third period was scoreâ€" less, but for some tremenâ€" dous stops by both goalies the score could have been a great deal higher. Coach Ken Avarell pulled Gary with one minute left but to no avail and the Dodgers lost the game and the series to Westclair. Introduced by Mrs. Peggy Eagleson, special guests, Rev. James A. Kiddell, rector St. Steâ€" phen‘s, and Rev. Douglas Story, minister Beverley Hills United, discussed the topic of the eveâ€" ning ‘"Anglican and. United proâ€" posed union merger". Questioning how both churches can better serve this communâ€" ity, opinions were expressed that before much could be acâ€" complished towards union, lay people from the two denominaâ€" tions would have to work toâ€" gether first, and this aim made more effective if all churches combined their resources, talent and time, especially among the young people and senior citizens. For sometime in disfavor, the Bloodstone (original birthstone for March) is now gaining in popularity â€"especially among the male March fraternity.
