New rotunda show Esfahani grew up in Tehran, Iran, and moved to Canada in 1992. Her work incorporates traâ€" ditional Persian script within a modern composiâ€" tion. While the essence of calligâ€" raphy predomiâ€" nates and reveals an eastern origin in her work, forms, lines and texture attest to a western abstract influence. For the Rotunâ€" da Gallery exhibiâ€" tion, Esfahani creâ€" ated a siteâ€"specifâ€" ic installation, closely related to her recent art practice, which is shifting between painting _ and installation.
