This is the first major gift toward the next phase of the hospital foundation‘s Architects of Care leadership gift proâ€" gram. According to Children‘s Mental Health Ontario, one in five Ontario youth struggle with mental health issues, yet few of these young people receive the attention of a mental health professional. Support for the CAIP unit is one example of how Sun Life Finanâ€" cial is partnering with the community on healthâ€"related initiatives. Working with community partners, one of the goals of Sun Life Financial‘s philanthropy program is to help build healthier futures for individuals, famiâ€" lies and communities with a donation strategy that focuses on healthâ€"related causes. With this donation, the CAIP unit will expand from eight to 12 beds, and will move from the ninth floor to the first floor of the Kâ€"W Health Centre. system in Haiti The project, which is launching conâ€" struction in February, will ensure food security and improved incomes for 1,240 families in the area of Haut St. Marc, Haiti, by enabling access to water to irrigate their fields. Gary Thede, the president of the Rotary Club of Waterloo, said that supâ€" port of such a project is in keeping with one of the primary mandates of Rotary International to focus on providing access to water for the poor. Haiti is one of the poorest countries in the western hemisphere.
